Our mission is to help our children grow academically, socially, and physically to become well rounded, responsible citizens.

About Us

Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies is a SACS accredited, Pre-K through 5th grade elementary school in Metairie, Louisiana near the Orleans-Jefferson Parish line. It is located on Metairie Road, a major thoroughfare through the Old Metairie community in Jefferson Parish.

The school was founded in 1939 as Metairie Grammar School. At that time it served as a neighborhood school. Throughout the years, the school’s boundaries expanded to include neighborhood students, bussed students, and students on permit from outside the school’s district.

Beginning in the 2004 – 2005 school year, the Jefferson Parish School Board established Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies as its first elementary magnet school.  Admission requires that students live in the attendance zone.  Applications must be completed according to the districts requirements with acceptance based on academic performance.

In 2011 Metairie Academy was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School.
