UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

2025-2026

Grades 1-5

• Khaki uniform pants, shorts, skorts, skirt (shorts underneath)
• Navy polo dress with Metairie Academy logo (shorts underneath)
• Navy polo collared shirt with Metairie Academy logo
• Belt (grades 2-5)

 

Pre-K and Kindergarten

• Purple polo dress with Metairie Academy Logo (Shorts underneath)
• Purple polo or T-shirt with Metairie Academy logo and:
• Khaki uniform shorts Khaki uniform skort
• Khaki uniform long pants Khaki uniform skirt

Bag Policy Update:

Students in grades 4–12 must use only clear, see-through backpacks or tote bags. Mesh bags are no longer permitted. Clear bags are required to be transparent with no tint, iridescent or color and without frost. Bags must be stadium compliant. Small, non-clear cosmetic bags may be carried inside clear backpacks. 

 

 NO BOOKBAGS WITH WHEELS ARE PERMITTED IN ANY GRADE.

• Belts are to be worn with pants and shorts (grades 2-5).  Belt colors are solid black, brown, navy, or khaki and may be made of elastic, webbing, or leather.
• White crew socks that cover the ankle, with no print or design – no ankle socks
• Athletic shoes (appropriate for PE) in any color must be worn.  NO LIGHTS OR WHEELS. Velcro shoes are to be worn by Pre-K students as well as students who have not learned to tie laces.  Students in grades 

2-5 MUST have shoes with laces in order to address safety concerns.

 

***The dress code has been updated to provide a clear standard. 

Skirts, dresses, and skorts must extend to no more than two (2) inches above the knee when standing upright.

 

• Navy crewneck sweatshirt with school logo – no hoods.
• Girls may wear white, black, or navy opaque tights (no prints or designs).
• Navy cardigan sweaters
• No earrings that dangle
• No make-up
• Hats and sunglasses for outdoor use only.
•  Uniforms are available at many vendors including Skobel’s, Land’s End and Kajan Uniforms.  Be certain that you are buying uniform quality clothing.

 

During cold weather, students may wear a solid long-sleeved navy or white shirt underneath the uniform shirt.  There is no uniform requirement for coats and jackets that are not worn in the classrooms.
